Ümit Çetin (Demirtoka) earned her BA degree in psychology in 1986, and MA degree in clinical psychology in 1991 from Boğaziçi University, in Istanbul Turkey. She received regular supervision for many years with an emphasis on psychodynamic and Gestalt therapy perspectives. During part of that time she worked at a mental health state hospital for 8 years. Since 1995 she has been in private practice in Istanbul, working with individuals and couples. She completed Stan Tatkin's Level 1 and Level 2 PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) training. She is an ongoing participant in Ellyn Bader’s online advanced training program at the Couples Institute (www.couplesinstitutetraining.com) and is one of her teaching assistants on the Level 1 site.
Her areas of interest are transitional developmental periods of life, couples therapy, relationship problems.
